Our Surgeries

Treforest Veterinary Clinic has been serving the community of Pontypridd for over 30 years, seeing more than 5,000 animals every year.

Our Treforest Surgery was started by George Marshall over 30 years ago. Located in Treforest, just outside Pontypridd, we have great access and transport links to the A470 just outside. In 2011, Mike and Andrew took over from Mr. Marshall and have continued to grow the practice, investing heavily in equipment and staff training to ensure your pets receive the best treatment. From training our first Veterinary Nurse ourselves, we now have four – with two more in training!

Our new Tonypandy Surgery opened in 2016 and is purpose-built to offer exceptional facilities for Tonypandy, Porth and the Rhondda area.

Having seen our primary surgery in Treforest growing and getting busier and busier, we decided to open our second surgery in Tonypandy. Many of our clients already travelled this far to see us and there was a lack of good, accessible veterinary clinics in the Rhondda area.

We renovated an old, derelict building on Pandy Square over a period of 18 months – Andrew and his father designed and project managed the entire build! This allowed us to design best practice into every aspect, imagining the building as a veterinary practice right from the start. Separate dog and cat wards with bespoke kennels, sterile operating theatres, a room dedicated to imaging (ultrasound and X-Ray) were all designed in. We’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved – a practice which at 4,500sq.ft is more than 3 times as big as the ‘average’ chain or corporate veterinary surgery. Staffed with our usual friendly staff, we can now see and treat animals from Tonypandy, Tonyrefail, Porth, Rhondda and nearby.
