If you’ve recently got a new pet you’re most likely very excited. As well as having a new companion, there’s a great sense of responsibility that comes with raising an animal. However, it’s extremely important your furry friend is taken to see a vet when you first get them, just to check they’re in good health.
At Treforest Vets we recommend all new pets are brought to see us within the first few days you have them. During this appointment we will thoroughly examine your companion from nose to tail to ensure they’re developing nicely, and not at risk of any potential problems and review any existing medical history. It’s also a great excuse for us to fuss the new addition to your family too!
It doesn’t matter if your new pet is a baby or has been adopted later on in their life. As well as making sure your new companion is healthy and happy, regular visits to see us are a great way to get your pet used to a veterinary environment, making future visits to see us much more relaxed.
Once your furry friend has been checked over by a member of our friendly team they won’t have to come and see us for another 12 months (unless a follow-up appointment or booster is recommended). You can find out more about out routine check-ups by **clicking here.**
